OUR Story

Chasney Estate is a 14-acre Olive Grove and Lavender Farm in Tresco Victoria, owned by Isabel and Gary Chasney. We moved from a medical background and had to start learning all about farming and the oil/lavender business.

We have 5 types of Olives and produce Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Scillian Style Table Olives. We also hand make Olive Oil soap bars , liquid hand soap and other lavender, olive products. In our Farm Shop will distil our 11 varieties of Lavender to make pure essential Lavender Oil. ( of which 9 are English Lavender Cultivars). Our farm is off the grid solar and water and we are aiming to be as natural as possible. We are building healthy soils, healthy plants and healthy animals on the farm.

We know that food grown in healthy soil is healthy food. We add compost and mulch to help build our farms healthy soil.

We are currently planting 15 types of lavender, 10 Culinary including English Lavender ( Lavandula Angustifolia) for culinary use and Essential oils, and Lavandula intermedia Grosso for dried flowers and essential oil for cosmetic use. We are open for farm tours for the Lavender from December, where you can watch the distilling process for essential oil around December / January. We will have come and try days, pick your own Lavender and lavender wreath-making classes. Our fruit is chemical and pesticide free . We also practice sustainable farming. All our products are Artisan handmade and produced in small batches on the farm.

OUR MISSION

To produce quality, tasty produce and natural products to sell to you direct from the farm.

Our products are palm free, chemical and pesticide free and not tested on animals.

We strive to use packaging that can be recycled.

Our Farm is off grid solar and we are currently striving to be organic. We also are growing our own vegetables and have Dorper sheep to help clear the land rather than blading the soil. Our aim is to nurture the soils back to health by mulching, fertilizing with natural manure from our animals and chickens. We believe in regenerative farming.

OUR PRODUCE

We produce Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Jumbo Kalamata, Spanish Queen, and Manzanillo table olives, both green and black. These are ready to purchase at our Farm Shop open most weekends and school Holidays, at farmer’s markets or online. We also produce a range of Olive Paste and Olive Jam which is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Other products that we hand make on the farm are soaps, body products and leather conditioners for leather goods, 100% pure Lavender Essential Oil, English varieties and Grosso.

Our olive oils and table olives are made in Australia by ourselves and packaged using only Australian extra virgin olive oil or brine. We do not use artificial preservatives or chemicals.

Our oil is kept in stainless steel vats in a temperature-controlled environment.
